HOW WE HELP YOU
You may have heard about the benefits of Pilates for you and your baby

- Practise functional movements in your daily activities to promote good posture and avoid back pain, especially in the last months of pregnancy.
- Prepare your body for childbirth by strengthening your abdominal wall and pelvic floor muscles, to prevent abdominal or pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Learn how to contract the muscles needed to give birth and thus reduce the chances of injury during childbirth.
- Feel calmer and more prepared.
- Learn to breathe consciously and relax. We train the diaphragmatic breathing that you will use in labour.
- Free your mind from the worries of pregnancy to focus on your body and your baby.
- Prenatal training facilitates a better postpartum recovery of your body on a physical and physiological level.
IF YOU’VE ALREADY HAD YOUR BABY
- Reconnect with your body after the transformation of becoming a mother, and enjoy a moment of self-care as we prioritise your health.
- Recover physically by speeding up your metabolism and gaining strength. You will gradually feel yourself getting back into shape.
- Re-educate the muscles of the abdominal wall so that it becomes functional again and tucks in your tummy after pregnancy. Increase core strength.
- Strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, after the pressure that has been put on them during pregnancy and childbirth.
- Recover from abdominal and pelvic floor injuries that can sometimes occur after pregnancy and childbirth, such as abdominal diastasis, urinary incontinence, etc.
- Strengthen your muscles to prevent or reduce back pain, neck and shoulder tension from carrying your baby and breastfeeding.
- Build confidence and improve your self-esteem to feel good about your own body.
- Become aware of your own body and mind during a time in life that can be overwhelming, exhausting or stressful.
- Restore your emotional balance through the concentration needed to coordinate and perform body movements together with the breath.
- Pilates also oxygenates the body and brain, thus providing mental clarity and relaxation.
A sedentary lifestyle during pregnancy and postpartum comes with many risks
Even today, few health professionals warn about the consequences of NOT exercising properly, both for the mother and the baby.
These risks include:
- Pre-eclampsia
- Gestational diabetes
- Excessive weight gain
- Foetal macrosomia
- Lower back pain
- Pelvic pain
- Pelvic floor muscle dysfunction
- Urinary incontinence
- Abdominal diastasis (long-term)
By practising Pilates, you reduce all these risks to a minimum, and moreover:
In short: Pilates is the ideal low-impact exercise to balance your body and mind, care for your pelvic and abdominal area, and strengthen your whole body.
UNIQUE FEATURES
What are Pre and Postnatal Pilates classes like?

Online via Zoom or in person, in Alicante, Spain.
A programme that is 100% personalised and tailored to you. All classes will be exclusively planned for you and your needs.
Postural analysis. In the first class I will study your posture, teach you the basics of Pilates, get to know you and be able to personalise your classes as much as possible.
And in all Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates classes:
- The exercises are low-impact so they don't affect your joints. However, we will work on strengthening your muscles and stabilising your joints, which become lax due to the hormone relaxin.
- The exercises are adapted to the different stages of pregnancy to keep you and your baby safe.
- I teach you how to execute the movements of daily activities with your baby while maintaining good postural hygiene and alignment,to reduce the risk of pain or injury.
TESTIMONIALS
This is what some of my clients say about my Pilates classes
I trained with Viviane from the time I was 8 weeks pregnant up to the final week. I started training one day a week, then two because of how it made me feel. Her classes have given me a lot of energy and helped to have a wonderful pregnancy. Viviane adapts to our needs according to the stage of our pregnancy. You can tell she is always very prepared and is always ready to help you if you have any concerns. She is a professional through and through and I’d recommend her without any hesitation.

I’ve trained with Viviane during both my pregnancies and afterwards. She works with you to identify exactly what your body needs and how to achieve your goals in a safe way.The 1-1s are tailor made specifically for you and your abilities at a given time. Every week I can see myself slowly progressing and getting stronger. Viviane has been well informed by midwivesand makes sure you understand exactly why you are doing specific exercises and how it will help you reach your goals.

I have gained strength and improved my postural hygiene to carry my baby and her things without hurting myself or getting back pain. The exercises with weights and bands work! Viviane’s classes have also helped me regain my self-confidence. After giving birth I didn’t recognise my body. My tummy wasn’t the same, my abs felt flabby and I thought I wouldn’t be able to do the same exercises as before. With time, the classes progressed in difficulty and today I’m comfortable with my body.

Viviane is not only an excellent instructor but she cares for your wellbeing both in and out of the class. You’re not only encouraged to move in the class but also outside the class. She has an in-depth knowledge of pregnancy and how womenshould train, adapting the exercises according to individual circumstances. She is also very generous when sharing information about how to care for us during pregnancy.
Cristina (37)

I’ve been training with Viviane since the start of my pregnancy. Apart from having incredible teaching methods, all her classes have a ‘theory section’ where you learn so much about things to keep in mind during your pregnancy. She also transmits an incredible energy that helps you a lot when you’re feeling emotionally low!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You may be wondering...
When is the best time to start Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates?
PILATES DURING PREGNANCY
Whether you are already active or have never exercised before, you can do Pilates from the start of your pregnancy! It is safe to do Prenatal Pilates from the first week of pregnancy*, as long as you’ve not been contraindicated by your doctor and your pregnancy is going well.
Also, remember that the classes are personalised and adapted to your abilities.
PILATES IN POSTPARTUM
Before starting classes 4-6 weeks (vaginal birth) or 6-8 weeks (caesarean birth) must have passed. In addition, you must have medical permission from your gynaecologist or midwife to return to exercise*.
It is also highly recommended that you have visited a women’s health physio before starting classes to check the condition of your pelvic floor and abdominal wall after childbirth, so that you can train your body properly and in a way that adapts to your needs.
Don't rush to come back until you have all this, it's so important to give your body time to recover and to replenish energy during this demanding time of life!
*Always with medical clearance. We will ask you to confirm that you have this when you fill in your enrolment form.
Do I have to wait until I’m pregnant to start Prenatal Pilates?
No, on the contrary, if you are planning for a pregnancy, this is the IDEAL time to start! In that case, you can join my Pilates Matwork classes, which will help you to consciously prepare your body for pregnancy, and help you to create the best possible home for your baby in the months of gestation. You have all the information about Pilates Matwork here.
Can I practise Pilates if I’m pregnant?
If you already do Pilates with me, you can continue the Pilates Matwork classes during your first trimester, because it is still suitable for you and I know your body (as long as you feel well). When you enter your second trimester (week 13), it is mandatory to transition to my Prenatal Pilates classes.
If you have never done Pilates before, you should start with the Prenatal Pilates class, whatever trimester you are in. It is safe to do Prenatal Pilates from the first week of pregnancy, as long as you’ve not been contraindicated and have permission from your doctor or midwife.
You can find all the information about the Pilates Prenatal classes here.
If I buy a package of classes at the end of my pregnancy and I give birth, what happens to my remaining class passes?
When you give birth, your package is paused and your passes are available for your postpartum phase. Even if you have booked for your future classes and do not attend, those bookings are cancelled and your passes are saved. We postpone the expiry date and you can use them to do Postnatal Pilates in your postpartum period. So you won't lose your money.
If I already have an injury, can Prenatal or Postnatal Pilates help me recover?
Yes, whether it is a previous injury, or one caused by pregnancy or childbirth, it will help your rehabilitation.
If you have abdominal diastasis, personalised exercises will help you recover and close your rectus abdominis muscles.
Similarly, Pilates helps in the recovery of pelvic floor injuries, urinary incontinence, prolapse, etc.
If necessary, we’ll work in collaboration with your pelvic floor physio to achieve better results.
Will I be able to have my classes at the same time if I want to?
Yes, if you choose to do individual classes you will be able to select and save the day and time of your class for the same days and times each week. No-one else will be able to take that space and so you can keep to a routine. You just have to request it.
Will you give me some homework and suggest healthy habits after each Pilates class?
Yes, this is something that is included in the private classes. I will suggest small exercises or routines that you can do in your day to day life, and that will help you to integrate what you have learned in class and continue progressing. Perseverance is the key to achieve results! At the start of each class, I will do a follow-up to find out how you are progressing with the homework, in that way we both commit to achieving the set objectives.
What equipment do I need for the classes?
The most essential equipment for the class is a Pilates mat (10-15mm thick) and blocks (thin and thick) to adapt the exercises to your body so that you are more comfortable and well aligned. Apart from that, we use equipment like resistance bands, weights, resistance rings, softballs etc.
If you don’t have any pieces of equipment, you can get them from my list of recommended products. Don’t worry, because you don’t need to have all the equipment for your first class. You can gradually acquire them. In addition, we will let you know in advance of each class the equipment you will need. If you don’t have the equipment on a particular day, that’s not an issue, I will give you some modifications so you can either train with an alternative piece of equipment or none at all. You’ll still enjoy the class!
Do the online class packages expire?
Yes, packages expire 6 weeks from date of purchase. So you will have 6 weeks to attend 4 classes. They are intended to create a regular workout routine, but give you the flexibility to use all your class passes, even if you can’t attend weekly, are ill with a flu or go on holiday.
Just as you did when you purchased your package, you can reschedule any class reserved as part of the package. You are not obliged to attend the classes you booked at the initial time of purchase, because we understand that your availability might change.
Do single classes expire?
Single classes are intended to be used for a one-off session, for example, if you want to try out a single class to see how you feel. These expire 2 weeks from the date of purchase.
Will I be able to cancel or reschedule a class if I can’t attend?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. So yes, you can cancel or reschedule a class up to 24 hours before the class is scheduled to begin. Cancellation within the 24 hour period prior to your class is considered a late cancellation and you will not be able to reuse the pass for that class. You will be able to access the recording for the next 5 days. After your purchase, you will receive detailed information which explains how to reschedule your Pilates class.
Can I get a refund if I miss a class?
Do you offer free trial classes?
No, I don’t offer trial classes for individuals or groups. The best way to experience one of my classes is to book a single class. You can buy a single group class, or if you’ve never done Pilates before, we advise you start with 1 or 2 individual classes with me. I will teach you the basics, and then you can join a group. You can book your individual class here.
Why are your prices listed in euros?
At the moment the online studio is based in Spain, so my studio operates in euros. Your bank will automatically convert your currency at the time of purchase.
