PILATES FOR CHILDREN
An activity to promote development and health for life
HOW I HELP YOU
Are you worried that your little ones aren’t getting enough exercise?
Whether you’re a parent or a teacher, it’s not always easy these days to make sure children move as much as they need to.
Cities lack child-friendly spaces where children can run around freely like they used to do in villages and in the countryside. Add to this the use of screens and the way traditional education is set-up, there is a risk that Generation Z will become the least active generation yet.
Don’t take my word for it. A recent report from the World Health Organisation shows that 70% of boys and up to 88% of girls under the age of 10 do not reach required daily activity levels for age-appropriate growth.
A culture of convenience and increasingly sedentary lifestyles are compromising the health of today’s children. Eating fast food, watching TV and playing video games has become routine while nutritious diets and physical activities decline.
It’s time to do something about it!
Be the engine of change with Pilates:
an activity that’s both fun and challenging for children
They’ll be looking forward to a Pilates class!
BENEFITS
The benefits of Pilates for adults are well known, but not so much for children
Find out what they are:
BETTER POSTURAL HYGIENE
Pilates counteracts the time children spend sitting in chairs or hunched over books and electronic devices.
By mobilising their joints and training the extensor muscles in the back, they will be able to maintain upright and healthy postures for longer.
MORE STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY
Children who practise Pilates have improved flexibility, and strengthen the abdominal muscles, core and deep muscles.
This gives them the physical foundation to better perform activities and sports, and with greater confidence.
BETTER REST
Pilates gives them energy, and at the same time calms their nervous system through conscious breathing coupled with movement.
This helps children fall asleep more easily at night and rest better.
BETTER CONCENTRATION
The benefits of Pilates aren’t only physical. Concentration is required to carry out Pilates movements correctly.
This cognitive skill will be reflected when carrying out other tasks in school or at home.
HEALTHY PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
Pilates promotes the correct development of the body, avoiding postural issues that can develop in adolescence such as dorsal kyphosis and forward head syndrome.

Would you like to introduce your children to Pilates?
At Viviane Pilates, we teach Pilates to children as if it were a game, involving the movement of different animals, for example, to make it a fun activity that everyone can practise.
We encourage a positive association with movement and exercise from infancy, avoiding the resistance that occurs when an activity is forced or imposed.
How do we do it?
Pilates for children in schools
Pilates for children as an extracurricular activity
Family get-togethers and meetings
